Read the piece in the Stranger about The Planet The. Also come out for a early show Saturday 2/28 @ Drone Hill w/ Point Line Plane, Anna Oxygen & Panther - starts at 8:00 - $3. Here is the up & coming mention in the Stranger:

>> POINT LINE PLANE, PANTHER, ANNA OXYGEN - SATURDAY 2/28 @ Drone Hill <<
Basement shows are often cramped cages of rank hippie B.O., stark one-bulb lighting, and odds and ends of storables--all of which lend atmosphere to the hardcore/metal bands that usually play there. Drone Hill is aiming at something a little artier, and when I checked out their space a month ago, I left thoroughly impressed. The roomy lower level of the Beacon Hill home (2711 14th Ave S) has couches and chairs to sit on, magazines like the Wire to flip through, and it's been painted and lit with Christmas lights to help create a warm, comfortable atmosphere to lounge in between bands. Drone Hill's permanent resident, Craig Mueller, wants to fill his space with adventurous/experimental acts, and tonight's bill does just that. Portland's sexy synth punks Point Line Plane pair up with Panther (Charlie Salas, frontman for The Planet The) and Anna Oxygen, a one-woman Erasure. It's loud as hell in there, but Drone Hill still is a house show, even if the house is a clean one. - JM

2/23/04 - Point Line Plane are in the studio right now recording a soundtrack for a upcoming film called "Haunters". The film is documentary all about people who make insane and really scary Halloween houses accross America. I have been told it is great but have yet to see any of it. The music PLP has recorded so far sounds excellent and is really dark and a bit more tame than their debut cd (it is a soundtrack ya know). Remindes me of a mix between Goblin's horror film music & Air's Virgin Suicides soundtrack. PLP performed some of this material last thursday along with a bunch of new songs at a excellent show in Portland at Dunes. Also on the bill was Nudge who are a truly awe inspiring band (featuring members of Jessamine/Fontenelle/Jackie-o Motherfuckers, etc, etc...). No set plans for when the movie or soundtrack will be coming out at this point but PLP will be performing some of this material at 2 shows in Seattle this weekend. Please check out my show page for all the details.

2/17/04 - If you live in Portland or like to road trip for shows go check out Point Line Plane & Nudge Thursday 2/19 @ Dunes (1909 NE MLK Portland Or - (503) 493- 8637). This will be PLP's debut as a 3 piece w/ new member Mr. Howard. Show starts at 9:30 & is free ! If you live in or near Seattle & were not at the Monday Funday show at Graceland last night you missed out on a good time. Dalmatians, Ophelia & the Great Idea, Science Victim & No-Fi Soul Rebellion were all fun fun fun & excellent. No-Fi was even able to turn the show into a dance party which is no small feat in Seattle ! I would also like to mention that everytime I see Science Victim I like them more & more which is probably good since they are about to begin recording for their debut cd which will be released on Xeroid sometime in 2004.

2/3/04 - The Numbers, Chromatics & Joey Casio show in Olympia last night was super fun. Hooray for House parties. Hooray for Numbers. Joey Casio was awsome & even did a Screamers cover of "If I can't have what I want I don't want anything" + a great version of Richard Hell & The Voidoids "Blank Generation" along with a bunch of originals. I am going to try to get him on some Seattle bills soon. For those of you elsewhere in the world you can e-mail him at manormonster@yahoo.com to get his 3 song demo. Chromatics & Numbers are both on tour so go check 'em out in your town.

2/1/04 - There is a new Point Line Plane 7" coming out on SS Records. I am not sure of the actual release date but it should be really soon. Also SS Recs are releasing new A Frames & Intelligence 7"s & a Crash Normal lp ! I am working w/ Chris Rolls on a Zeigenbok Kopf cd & dvd release by KimoSciotic records & Xeroid. It will be ZK's final album & include a dvd of videos, interviews & various live performances. We are shooting for a summer release. Just added some reviews for releases & fixed broken links. If you live in Seattle Point Line Plane, The Planet The, Popular Shapes & Science Victim will be playing a 21 and over show at Funhouse March 27th. The next night will be a house party at Drone Hill with Point Line Plane, Panther (Charlie from The Planet The doing his solo electro dance explosion !) & Anna Oxygen.. Check out my shows page for more info on these shows & other stuff.

1/29/04 - Does everybody know yet that they should be buying the 2 new & different Metal Urbain discs ? They were a amazing French synthpunk band in the late 70's ! The US label releasing MU is Acute records and that cd is a reissue of "Anarchy in Paris!" + singles & lots of bonus unreleased material. The French cd is a release by Seventeen Records and is a double disc called "Chef D'Oeuvre". And guess what, the releases are different so you need to buy them both. Metal Urbain is going to be doing a west coast tour at the end of March playing The Silverlake lounge in LA, The Hemlock Tavern in SF, a show at Holocene in Portland w/ Point Line Plane March 30th & The Hideaway in Seattle March 31st. I will put more info on the show page when I have details.

1/15/04 - Meeuw Muzak out of the Neatherlands released a Screamers 7" w/ 2 live tracks "Magazine Love" & the previously unreleased "Cholo Jump". You can try to get copies form him or contact SS Records. Meeuw Muzak also released an amazing Primitive Calculators 7". I will have a few copies of both of these for sale sometime during mid to late febuary.

12/15/03 - Xeroid is finally back. My web hosting luck started going bad back in July & it has taken me this long to get it all sorted out & back on the www. Much has happend since then. Point line plane & thier cd have been getting some great press. They also toured the states twice in 2003 & just recently added Howard Gillam (aka Supersprite) as a 3rd PLP member. I set up some fun shows like The Cripples, Sexy Prison & Science Victim @ Rebar (see some pix by Amy Halligan). Xeroid has unfortunetly not released anything new (coz I am broke, dammit !) but at least lots of my favorite bands have been releasing 7"s, albums & cds this year. You all should check out new releases by the A-frames, Intelligence, Crack:We Are Rock !, Ursula & the Android, Jackie Hell & the Control Tops, The Planet The, Nice Nice, Sexy Prison, Friends Forever, Black Ice, Vanishing, Popular Shapes, Spits, Dipers, Experimental Dental School, Coachwhips, X-27, Condor, The Stuck ups, Pleaseeasaur, Canned Hamm & soooo many more. I will be trying to update my links & get new stuff in there + more mp3's, pictures & flyers for this site.

5/21/03 - Be sure to make it to the Point Line Plane cd release party this Friday (05/23/03) at the Sunset Tavern in mighty Ballard! The show should get underway around 9:30-10:00.

5/7/03 - Been really really busy (damn day job !) & then out of town for the Point Line Plane cd release shows in Portland, OR this past weekend. They were super fun but it is too bad I had to miss the A-frames cd release show May 3rd in Seattle in order to go. I have heard that the new lp is amazing & can't wait to get a copy when they return from thier tour. Speaking of tours PLP is on the road as of today for a quick bay area moment (including a live set on KFJC radio fri 5/9 during the 3-6 pm slot). After thier return they will be playing Seattle 5/23 @ The Sunset Tavern w/ Ursula + the Androids & Wormwood before heading out east. You can see all the tour details on my shows page. Let's see where was I ? Oh yeah, release shows. Ozone records was a double release bonus because the amazing Jonny X & the Groadies played & were celebrating a split lp release that just came out on Omnibus records w/ Corpse Fucks Corpse, Gift of goats & Get get go. The evening show at Sataricon was w/ Zeigenbok Kopf who I got the pleasure of seeing perform 3 times this last week & man oh man there is nothing else like it. Lots of crazy sweaty fun ! You can see a older ZK live show at Burn my eye.

4/20/03 - I just heard good news about possible financial support coming my way (knock on wood !). This is really nice to hear since our economy sux and my day job has been up and down for what seems like years now. It has felt like most of my plans to release music have been constantly derailed by lack of money so what this financial help means is first of all a repress of The Screamers "In a better world" will soon be set in gear after just idling in neutral for the last few months. Plus plans for a future cd/lp release of the Screamers "Live at the Roxy (LA 1979)" are coming back out on the table. This release will possible include some late 79 studio recordings that recently surfaced & would nicely fill out the package. Also there are some local Seattle bands that I would really love to support by signing them & making their music available. "Who are these bands?" you are probably asking. Well, for this info you are just going to have to wait a little bit.

4/18/03 - I just rushed down to Kent, WA to pick up the Point Line Plane Cd's from Opti-disc before they sent them to PLP & Sincere Brutality down in Portland ! They look and sound fantastic ! I am super excited & you should be too coz PLP are about to knock your sox off !! You can buy your very own copy now for only $10 + shippin' on my Releases Page. Working on website goodies (mp3s, pictures, links, etc) & still trying to get a scanner that works.

4/1/03 - I have been trying to update & change this website so it looks better & is more user friendly.

The best news I have is that I get to co-release the debut cd by Point Line Plane with James & Sincere Brutality ! We should have it back from the plant before May 1st. If you have not heard PLP yet they are a drum & keyboard powerhouse from Portland, OR. Go listen to them in my new mp3 section, plus check out the kick ass video that E*rock of Audio Dregs made for them @ www.jyrk.com.
